NOMINATED FOR J AWARD WHILE PLANS SURPASSES GOLD SALES

Birds of Tokyo are chuffed that their self-titled brand new album has  just been nominated for the ‘ALBUM OF THE YEAR’ J Award courtesy of  long time supporters, Triple J.  The award presentation generally coincides with Aus Music Month which is held throughout November on Triple J.

Critics have hailed this special album with four star reviews across Australia. And it seems the public have taken the critics’ advice with the acclaimed album already being certified gold and riding high in the national top 10 over recent months.

In other news ‘Plans’ – the lead single from Birds of Tokyo – has now also been certified gold and is still ensconced as the #1 Australian single on the ARIA charts ten weeks since its release.

To celebrate the band will release an exclusive iTunes digital bundle for ‘Plans’ this Friday September 24. The bundle includes previously unreleased acoustic B-Sides of ‘The Saddest Thing I Know’ and ‘Wild at Heart’.

Meanwhile tickets for the band’s upcoming national tour are selling fast. The Perth and Adelaide concerts sold out weeks ago and no further tickets will be available for those shows. However, a final 100 tickets have just been released for the Birds of Tokyo Festival Hall show in Melbourne on Friday October 1.
These 100 extra tickets have been released from production holds to  meet the demand of fans so people are strongly advised to get in quick  to avoid disappointment. NO further tickets will be released once this  final batch is sold and no extra shows will be added to this tour.

This national album tour will feature very special U.S. guests  Silversun Pickups. Perth band, The Chemist will also join the line-up for all shows excluding Perth where Emperors will hit the stage. Check out TOURS/EVENTS for all the latest venue & ticketing info!
