The wait for the most anticipated album of the year is over.
This Friday, July 23, BIRDS OF TOKYO’s self-titled album hits the streets.
The third studio album is the band’s finest work. Recorded in Sydney, New York City, London and Gothenburg Sweden, BIRDS OF TOKYO teamed up with some of the industry’s best who have each brought their individual colour and class to this stunning album. Produced by Scott Horscroft (the Presets, Silverchair, Sleepy Jackson) and co-produced by the band’s own Adam Spark, mixed by Michael Brauer (Coldplay, My Morning Jacket, Phoenix), and led by the unmistakeable voice of frontman Ian Kenny, with guitarist Adam Spark again taking on lead creative duties.
This album carries with it the weight of one man’s world… the entire emotional gamut of a love lost, and the broken heart it left in its wake, set to breathtaking music fitting of such depth and complexity. And it is this journey into such deeply personal territory that makes this the Birds Of Tokyo’s most meaningful and powerful album.
Make sure you tune in to Triple J all this week as the new album has been hand picked as this week’s Feature Album.
